Experimental Demonstration of a Supergain Three-Dipole-End-Fire-Array
Résumé
This paper presents the measurement results of a electric-dipole-based-parasitic-element array optimized for gain, taking into account the loss resistances derived from full-wave simulation. The high gain reached (8.6dBi for a ka of 1.4) show the interest of this optimization method presented in an earlier work, maximizing intrinsic gain rather than directivity. Also, it is analytically shown that this optimization method also decreases the sensitivity to errors in the dipole excitation coefficients, as it also decreases the directivity target.
