Babylon: R&D program for French Bituminized Waste Products acceptability in deep geological repository

Abstract

CEA, Orano, EDF and Andra launched in 2020 a four-party R&D program aimed at improving the robustness of the safety assessment of bituminized waste disposal. Indeed, the program will consolidate knowledge of the behaviour of Bituminized Waste Products in order to confirm the design of the disposal cells (design and operation) at Cigéo.
