Development of cementitious embedding material formulations: Relevance and use of analytical homogenization methods for mechanical modelling
Abstract
Throughout the development of cementitious embedding material formulations, analytical homogeniza-tion methods are available to estimate composite strength and elastic properties, to aggregate the vis-cous flows, and to model damage growth. Thus, these methods can be used to assess the mechanical consequences of various phenomena, including the setting warming-up, the expansion of embedded ion exchange resin, the lixiviation or the sulfatic attacks. We briefly describe the three main methodo-logical aspects: the linear mechanical justifications, their application to diffusion homogenization, and then the non-linear developments. We present the different practical uses of analytical homogenization method, for the above-listed purposes.
